1- Brush Regularly
Brushing your teeth daily is the standard routine for good oral hygiene. It is imperative that we brush our teeth every single day, generally in the morning and before we go to bed. Following a daily brushing schedule prevents the likelihood of future dental work and keeps your teeth strong and clean.

Cutting down on sweets and soda drinks will improve the overall health of your teeth and gums. If you get into the habit of eating sugary foods and not brushing your teeth twice a day, you’ll find that your oral hygiene will deteriorate pretty quickly. Smoking is another major factor that contributes to poor dental hygiene, as it causes stains to build up over time. Its also not great for your breath, yuck!
4- Clean Your Tongue
Your tongue is like a sponge that collects bacteria, which will build up if your tongue isn’t cleaned regularly. You’re probably thinking ‘how do I clean my tongue?’ Well, there are a few things you can do to achieve this. The preferred and most hygienic way of cleaning your tongue is by using a tongue scraper. This is a tool that you simply scrape along your tongue to remove excess bacteria that comes off as a gunge substance. You can clean the scraper with ease to keep the process as hygienic as possible. You can also use your toothbrush, however it is usually advised to use a tongue scraper as the preferred method.
5- Use Mouthwash
For the final step in your teeth cleaning routine is to use mouthwash. Mouthwash can eradicate up to 99.9% of all remaining bacteria after brushing, leaving your mouth clean and fresh. With mouthwash, all you need to do is swill your mouth for the recommended time (this will clean your mouth by killing bacteria) and spit it back out. You then rinse your mouth out with water to complete the process. So by brushing, flossing, cleaning your tongue and using mouthwash, you will surely have good oral hygiene!
6- Visit Your Dentist
To be completely sure your teeth are in good condition, you should visit your dentist at least once a year. A dental professional can thoroughly examine your teeth and give you advise on how to keep your teeth and gums as healthy as possible.
